Got a question? It may be answered in our photography FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are your prices?
A. As a guide, prices start from £475 for the smaller intimate wedding at one venue.
Q. What do your prices for a wedding include?
A. A typical wedding will include:
- Pre-wedding consultation meeting.
- Pre-wedding shoot.
- Photography on the wedding day with either 1 or 2 professional photographers.
- Some products include a gallery of up to 30 photos to view on your mobile phone or tablet and share with family and friends. Please ask for details.
- A Studio set at your reception venue to capture formal or fun pictures of your family and friends.
- Printing of your thank you cards using photographs of your choice from your wedding day.
- Signing frames using a photograph from your pre-wedding shoot.
Q. How many Photographers are present at a wedding?
A. If there are a large number of guests and the coverage is for a full day, then we prefer to use 2 photographers to make sure we capture all those special moments.
Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes – I have Public and Product liability insurance as well as Professional indemnity insurance.
Q. Who owns the Copyright of the photographs?
A. I retain full copyright of the photographs but will allow you to use any digital files which I have supplied as part of the contract, providing they are not being resold.
Q. What equipment do you use?
A. I use Canon full-frame professional digital cameras and lenses.
Q. Why is a pre-wedding shoot listed as part of your wedding services?
A. I find these sessions are the real ‘icebreakers’ as it will help us to get to know each-other before the big day. Some people find it heard to relax in front of the camera so it is better to get some practice in before the wedding day.
Q. Can guests order prints?
A. I can upload your photographs (once you have had the opportunity of seeing them for the first time) to a password protected gallery. Your guests can view and place orders directly with the ability to pay by Debit or Credit card – so you do not need to be involved in that part of that process.
Q. How many photographs do we get?
A. Based on the size and duration of the wedding and reception, I would aim to provide you with about 300 photographs. If these are being displayed in an Album or Picture book, then the quantity being used will reduce – based on the constraints of the media being used.
Q. How and when will we see the photographs?
A. Depending on whether you are going away on honeymoon immediately following the wedding, I would aim to invite you to the office for a review within 2 weeks of the wedding. The selected photographs will be projected on to a large screen in our comfortable viewing area where you can watch a slideshow (to music), with some light refreshments. As you watch your day unfold, tissues will be provided (as these are nearly always required). A DVD will be provided with the selected photographs for you to choose the ones required for the Album or Picture book.
Q: How much does a portrait shoot cost?
A. Like all of the services there are no standardised packages. We will provide what you want and at a price to suit. Typically, We charge £95 for a portrait session (regardless of outside location). The final cost will be determined by what products you choose (frames, picture books, etc.)
Q. Do you own a Studio?
A. Yes, we do have our own Studio in Haddenham located close to Haddenham and Thame Parkway Station.
Q. How long does a shoot take?
A. Every job is different so while I try to work within an agreed timeframe I would prefer to take longer and get those all-important shots. A typical shoot in a park or woodland would normally last up to 2 hours.
Q. What can we expect from a lifestyle shoot?
A. These shoots are intended to be fun for all of those involved (including the photographer). I want the photographs to look natural and will help the nervous among you to relax. Photographers themselves generally prefer to be behind the camera – so we know what it is like being the centre of attention.
Q. Where will the shoot take place?
A. This is for you to decide. It can be in our Studio in Haddenham or a park, woodland, your home or even a location that is special to you.
Q. What happens if the weather is against us?
A. No problem – we just arrange another date or use our Studio.
Q. Do you do Model portfolios?
A. Yes, please call or send an enquiry for more details.
Q. What is access like at the Studio?
A. We have off-street parking and are located on the ground floor so there are no stairs to climb. If access is required in a wheelchair we have a door at the rear of the building which is more suitable for wheelchair access.
Q. When do we pay?
A. Once you have confirmed the booking, I ask you to pay for the shoot. Any other products chosen after the shoot (frames, books, etc.) we will ask that these are paid at the time of ordering.
Q: What evening events do you photograph?
A. This can be anything from a end of year school prom, a family party or anniversary, the evening reception of your wedding or a company function.
Q. Can you print on the night?
A. This is something we prefer not to do. However, if this is a requirement for your event – please give us a call to find out the options.
Q. Can we order prints online?
A. Yes – I will arrange an online gallery with an agreed price list to enable ordering online.
Q. Can you provide a studio set at the location?
A. Yes – providing an area has been agreed with the venue, I can set up a studio with lights and the ability to see photographs directly via a laptop.
